Meet the Directors
Since 2001 The House of Carrynette has been the fruit of labour of Annette Plantinga and Sybren Vis.
Starting with the production of high end uniform carriers we've grown into a full Pipe Band, Highland outfitting company and Kiltmakers in The Netherlands with customers throughout all of mainland Europe.
Annette Plantinga
Playing the pipes since 1996. Being a Piper I understand the advantages and even better the disadvantages of the Full Dress Pipe Band Outfit.
With this knowledge I developed a carrier bag for Full Dress uniforms. But soon after that we've started Carrynette International because of the demand for not only carriers but also the full kit.
I have a degree in Haute Couture and am responsible for the measuring of kilts and jackets but also I make bespoke weddingdresses.
Together with our customers I try to make the most beautiful dresses and outfits that make them shine on the best day of their life.
I advise on the Outfits but also the jewellery.
Fields:
- Kilts - Kiltmaker
- Dress
- Jewellery
- Accessoires
- Bagipes
- Workshops about Scottish Dress, Music and Kilt making.
Sybren Vis
In the Piping World since 1994 as a piper. Still playing one of Henry Murdo's Dunfion sets.
'Currently CO-Director of The House of Carrynette in the Netherlands. But also Pipe Major of the Cape Breton Highlanders and Chairman of The Dutch Pipe Band Organisation (NOvDB)
I am responsible for managing the Website and buying all the goodies for the Shop. Trying to get the best prices available.
Together with our customers I build the new pipes when they come in after you've selected the Pipes of your dreams.
I measure kilts, jackets but also wedding rings and advise on Jewellery and Pipe Band Uniforms.
Fields:
- Bagpipes - Drums
- Kilts - Apprentice Kiltmaker
- Highland Dress
- Jewellery
- Workshops about Scottish Dress, Music and History.

SUPPORT GROUP
At events you will find Annette and Sybren most of the time together. But we have some very skilled helping hands, like Margaretha, Jelle, Mariƫtte and sometimes Jelmer, Amy and Hedzer.
They can be of any assistance if you want to know anything and are able to redirect you to the right person if you need more information about what we sell and what we do.
